The Good News

“The Good News” -the Gospel of Christ answers two big “?’s”: “How can I have total forgiveness of my sins?” & “How do I get to Heaven?”

Our society has been filled with one person’s teaching after another. We have to remember that Salvation’s truth depends upon the very Word of God that gives us the infallible record of the Death, Burial & Resurrection of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus, & His Eternal Life.

The way to KNOW how to have forgiveness & how to get to Heaven is by going to the Word of God – the Bible, not another man’s teaching. We must believe these 4 things.

1. We are all sinners:

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” -Romans 3:10   “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23

Everyone who walks the face of the earth has done wrong. Have you ever told a lie? Did you ever steal-taken something that was not yours? Have you ever cursed and said Jesus Christ’s Name in vain? Are you a lover of money?  Everyone has sinned by doing wrong OR by not doing right. Do you believe this?

2. There is a penalty for our sin:

“For the wages of sin is death …” – Rom.6:23a  “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” -Revelation 21:8  “And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment.” -Hebrews 9:27

We all know we must die physically someday. Just pick up any newspaper & read the obituaries, & we see that people die every day at every age. After physical death, there is also spiritual death. We decide now while we are living where we’ll go after this life– Heaven or Hell.  The penalty for our sins is death in Hell’s lake of fire. If we get what we deserve it will be death in Hell.

3. Jesus Christ, GOD manifest in the flesh, paid that penalty for us when He shed His blood & died on the cross:

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” –Rom. 5:8  “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” –1 Peter 3:18   “.. Having made peace through the blood of his cross.” Colossians 1:20.

God the Father loved us so much that He gave the sinless Son of God, to die for us.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16

Jesus was buried; but then He rose from the dead on the third day. His offer is to all men-forgiveness of their sins & the gift of everlasting life.  Jesus Christ affirmed He is God & Lord & the Only Saviour. He has total victory over sin, the grave, hell & death!

“Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore.  Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” — Rev. 1:17-18.

Salvation was planned & prepared for you & me.

“.. but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”–Rom. 6:23b

Jesus IS God’s Gift to man. A gift is FREE. All you have to do to receive a gift when someone is offering it to you, is to reach out & take it.

4. Trust nothing else & take the Lord Jesus Christ alone as your personal Saviour:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  — Rom.10:9

Do you believe- That you’re a sinner deserving judgment? “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:20. Do you believe- That Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh, He, Who died to pay for your sins & is risen from the dead?  Do you believe -That Jesus is the ONLY Saviour & the ONLY One that CAN & will save you?

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Rom. 10:13

Friend, why don’t you bow your head right now? Ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins, to come into your life and heart and save you. Call upon the Lord like this:

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I deserve Hell. O, Jesus, I realize that You are God & the Only Saviour.  I believe You died on the cross to save me from my sins. Please forgive my sins. Come into my life & heart & save me now. Lord Jesus, I am trusting ONLY in YOU for my eternal salvation. Amen! And Lord, help me, now that I You saved me, to follow and serve You faithfully. Thank You, Lord Jesus! Amen!”

Did you by faith in God’s Word ask Jesus to save you? You will go to Heaven; not by what man teaches, but by God’s Word.

“In hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” –Titus 1:2
